Skype for iPhone

Now that it has been announced that Skype will no longer be free for iPhone users, do you think another halfway decent app will come along to take its place?  Will hard limits on the amount of data previously 'unlimited data' plans can use curb the use of such apps?  Will any of the big 4 (or 3) carriers take a stand and still offer unlimited data?
